Raise feelings of optimum emotional well-being.
There is some indication that the species of marine life being monitored can make a difference in the results.
Being submerged in water makes you remember what it was like to be in the womb of your mother.
Which contributes to an increase in sentiments of safety, happiness, and overall well-being.
In addition, maintaining a level of mental calm makes it easier to cultivate a more upbeat mental attitude and lessens the severity of depressive symptoms.
Enhances the circulation of the blood.
When you are underwater, the pressure on your body changes, all of your muscles are working at the same time.
As they all need oxygen to do their jobs, to get the oxygen to the muscles, your blood vessels open up.
Helps in reducing the stress.
The way we breathe when we dive is similar to the way we breathe when we meditate.
Focusing on the underwater life takes your mind off of “day-to-day” problems, so you can forget about everything else for the length of the dive.
This helps our bodies and nervous systems get back to their natural balance.
Reduces blood pressure.
Our blood pressure goes down when we dive because our bodies warm up and we take slow, deep breaths.
Studies have shown that people who dive often are less likely to have strokes or heart attacks.
Heals skin and bones.
Seawater is especially good for the skin because it makes it more flexible and improves how it looks.
At the same time, sunlight raises your levels of vitamin D, which is needed for your bones to absorb calcium and become healthier and stronger.
Vitamin D not only makes it easier for the body to absorb calcium, but it also helps the cells pass calcium between themselves.
This helps keep the bones healthy and strong by letting more calcium into the body.
Sunlight also helps our brains make more feel-good chemicals called endorphins, which make us feel happy and joyful.
